Welcome To Storytime! [tune: Twinkle, Twinkle]

Welcome, welcome everyone,
Now we're here, let's have some fun.
First we'll sing the ABC's,
then we'll read and sing with me.
Welcome, welcome, everyone,
Now we're here let's have some fun.

Apple Dance (tune: Here We Go Round the Mulberry Bush)

This is the way the apples hang,
The apples hang, the apples hang,
This is the way the apples hang,
Up high in the tree.
(Hold arms up over head.)

This is the way the apples drop,
The apples drop, the apples drop.
This is the way the apples drop,
Down to the ground.
(Hit the floor with fists.)

This is the way the apples spin,
Apples spin, apples spin.
This is the way the apples spin,
Around on their stems.
(Roll hands or spin entire body.)

This is the way the apples rock,
Apples rock, apples rock,
This is the way the apples rock,
Back and forth in the basket.
(Rock from side to side.)

Have You Ever Had an Apple  [Tune: Did You Ever See a Lassie ]

Have you ever had an apple, an apple, an apple?

Have you ever had an apple and heard it go crunch?

Have you ever had some cider, some cider, some cider?

Have you ever had some cider and heard it go slurp?

The Apple Tree

Way up high in the apple tree.

Hold up fingers, raising arm.

Five red apples smiled at me.

Smile maniacally.

So I shook that tree as hard as I could,

Mimic frenetic shaking with hands grasped around tree trunk.

Down came an apple!

Take felt apple off tree and pretend to eat it.
Then throw over shoulder.

Mmmmm it was good!
Rub tummy.

Count how many are left and start again...

The More We Read Together [Tune: The More We Get Together]

The more we read together, together, together,
The more we read together, the better it is!
'Cause reading and singing and talking together,
Is how you learn the six skills for reading by six.
