Welcome To Storytime! [tune: Twinkle, Twinkle]
Welcome, welcome everyone,
Now we're here, let's have some fun.
First we'll sing the ABC's,
then we'll read and sing with me.
Welcome, welcome, everyone,
Now we're here let's have some fun.
If Your Clothes Have Any Red [ tune: "If You’re Happy and You Know It" ]
If your clothes have any red, any red [2 x’s]
If your clothes have any red, put your fingers on your head,
If your clothes have any red, any red.If your clothes have any blue, any blue, [2 x’s]
If your clothes have any blue, Count your fingers up to two,
If your clothes have any blue, any blue.If your clothes have any green, any green [2 x’s]
If your clothes have any green, Curl your fingers, snarl and look mean,
If your clothes have any green, any green. If your clothes have any yellow, any yellow, [2 x’s]
If your clothes have any yellow, Sit back down and look real mellow,
If your clothes have any yellow, any yellow.
Make a Circle, Draw a Square
Make a circle, make a circle,
Draw it in the sky,
Use your finger, use your finger,
Make it round as a pie.Draw a square, draw a square,
Make the lines so straight,
Make a square, make a square,
Draw a box in the air!
Head and Shoulders
Head and shoulders, knees and toes,
knees and toes, knees and toes. [x2]
And eyes and ears and mouth and nose.
Ankles, elbows, feet and seat,
feet and seat, feet and seat [x2]
And hair and hips and chin and cheeks.
Paint! Paint! Paint! [Tune: "Here We Go ' Round The Mulberry Bush" ]
This is the way we paint our picture,
Paint our picture, paint our picture.
This is the way we paint our picture,
PAINT! PAINT! PAINT!
Other verses: This is the way we mold the clay… This is the way we paste and glue…
Painting Fun [Tune: "Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star" ]
I know the colors for painting fun,
Green like grass and yellow sun,
An Orange pumpkin and white snow,
A red rose and a black crow,
Blue like a mailbox, brown like an ape,
A pink pig and some purple grapes.
Color Surprises
I took a blob of red paint, Then I took a blob of yellow.
I squished and swished them all around as far as they would go.
My red and yellow began to change,
And much to my surprise, I saw those colors change to orange.
Right before my eyes!I took a blob of red paint, Then I took a blob of blue
I squished and swished them all around Like I was told to do
My red and blue began to change,
And much to my surprise, I saw those colors change to purple.
Right before my eyes!I took a blob of blue paint Then I took a blob of yellow.
I squished and swished them all around As far as they would go.
My blue and yellow began to change,
And much to my surprise, I saw those colors change to green
Right before my eyes!
The Color Song [Tune: "Knick Knack Paddy Whack" ]
Red, red, red, touch your head.
Blue, blue, blue, tie your shoe.
Brown, brown, brown, bend and touch the ground.
White, white, white, take a bite.
Black, black, black, touch your back.
Purple, purple, purple, turn a round in a circle.
Pink, pink, pink, give a little wink.
Gray, gray, gray, now shout hurray!
The More We Read Together [Tune: The More We Get Together]
The more we read together, together, together,
The more we read together, the better it is!
'Cause reading and singing and talking together,
Is how you learn the six skills for reading by six.
