Green Grass Grows all Around

There was a hole (there was a hole) in the middle of the ground
The prettiest hole, that you ever did see.
Oh, the hole in the ground and the green grass grows
all around, all around,
And the green grass grows all around.

And in the hole (and in that hole) there was a seed
The prettiest seed, that you ever did see.
Oh, the seed in the hole and the hole in the ground
And the green grass grows all around, all around
The green grass grows all around.

And from that seed (from that seed), there grew a tree
The prettiest tree, You ever did see
Oh, the tree from the seed,
And the seed in the hole, and the hole in the ground
And the green grass grows
all around, all around, and the green grass grew all around

And on that tree (On that tree), There was a branch
The prettiest branch That you ever did see
Oh, the branch was on the tree
And the tree from the seed,
And the see in the hole,
And the hole in the ground,
And the green grass grew all around, all around,
and the green grass grew all around.

And on that branch (and on that branch)
There was a nest, The prettiest nest
That you ever did see.

Over in the Meadow

Over in the meadow, in the sand, in the sun
Lived an old mother toady and her little toady one.
Jump said the mother, I jump said the one
so they jumped and they jumped in the sand in the sun.

Over in the meadow where the steam was blue.
Lived an old mother fishy and her little fishes two.
Swim said the mother, we swim said the two
So they swam and they swam where the streams runs blue.

Over in the meadow, in a hole in a tree
Lived an old mother blue bird and her little birdies three.
Sing said the mother, we sing said the three
So they sang and they sang in their hole in the tree.

Over in the meadow, by the reeds by the shore,
Lived and old mother muskrat and her little ratties four.
Dive said the mother, we dive said the four.
So they dived and they splashed by the reeds on the shore.

Over in the meadow, in a snug beehive.
Lived and mother honey bee and her little honeys five.
Buzz said the mother, we buzz said the five
So they buzzed and they buzzed in their snug beehive.

The More We Read Together [Tune: The More We Get Together]

The more we read together, together, together,
The more we read together, the better it is!
'Cause reading and singing and talking together,
Is how you learn the six skills for reading by six.
