Welcome To Storytime! [tune: Twinkle, Twinkle]

Welcome, welcome everyone,
Now we're here, let's have some fun.
First we'll sing the ABC's,
then we'll read and sing with me.
Welcome, welcome, everyone,
Now we're here let's have some fun.

Here's a Little Egg

Here's a little egg, so smooth and white.  (Sit criss-cross applesauce, head down, arms in lap)
Peck, Peck, Peck, there's something inside!  (Move head slightly at each peck)
Peck, Peck, Peck, here comes a little beak  (Move head on each peck, raising it a little higher each time)
Peck, Peck, Peck, Here come two little feet.   (Extend feet a little further on each peck)
Peck, Peck Peck, Peck, Peck, Peck (straighten legs and arms wider on each word)
and crack, crack, CRACK!  (move to squatting position)
Out pops the baby duck!  (Stand up, arms above head)

Have You Ever Seen a Duckling [Tune: "Did You Ever See a Lassie" ]

Have you ever seen a duckling? A duckling? A duckling?
Have you ever seen a duckling, move this way and that?
Move this way and that way, and this way and that way?
Have you ever seen a duckling, move this way and that!

The Little Ducklings by Elizabeth Vollrath

All the little ducklings line up in a row.
Quack, quack, quack, and away they go.
They follow their mother waddling to and fro.
Quack, quack, quack, and away they go.
Down to the big pond happy as can be.
Quack, quack, quack, they are full of glee.
They jump in the water and bob up and down.
Quack, quack, quack, they swim all around.
All the little ducklings, swimming far away.
Quack, quack, quack, they'll play another day.

The More We Read Together [Tune: The More We Get Together]

The more we read together, together, together,
The more we read together, the better it is!
'Cause reading and singing and talking together,
Is how you learn the six skills for reading by six.

Hope to see you at our next Antioch Preschool Storytime!
