Here are the rhymes and songs from today:
Welcome To Storytime! [tune: Twinkle, Twinkle]
Welcome, welcome everyone,
Now we're here, let's have some fun.
First we'll sing the ABC's,
then we'll read and sing with me.
Welcome, welcome, everyone,
Now we're here let's have some fun.
We Like Snow [tune:Three Blind Mice]
We like snow! We like snow!
Out we go. It covers the houses and fills the trees.
It's fun for sleds and it's fun for skiis.
We'll stay outdoors till our noses freeze, 'cause we like snow!
Snowflakes Falling [tune: Mary Had a Little Lamb]
Snowflakes falling from the sky, from the sky, from the sky.
Snowflakes falling from the sky. To the earth below.
Watch them as they dance and whirl, Dance and whirl, dance and whirl.
Watch them as they dance and whirl, Soft, white winter snow.
Snowflakes
Snowflakes, snowflakes, twirl around.
Snowflakes, snowflakes, falling down.
Snowflakes, snowflakes, touch my tongue.
Snowflakes, snowflakes, my song is sung.
Snowflakes, snowflakes, twirl around.
Snowflakes, snowflakes, falling down.
Chubby Little Snowman
A chubby little snowman had a carrot nose. (point to nose)
Along came a bunny and what do you suppose? (hold up two ingers on right hand to make bunny)
That hungry little bunny looking for his lunch, Ate that little snowman's nose (pretend to grab nose)
Nibble, nibble, crunch!
Five Little Snowmen
Five little snowmen riding on the sled. (Pretend 5 fingers are sleding)
One fell off and bumped his head. (rub head)
I called Frosty and Frosty said (dial imaginary telephone)
"No more snowmen, riding on that sled!" (say in deep voice)
Four little snowmen....etc.
I Made a Snow Friend [tune: I Saw Three Ships]
I made a snow friend out of snow, One winter day, one winter day.
I made a snow friend out of snow, One winter day in the morning.
I rolled a snowball big as could be, One winter day, one winter day.
I rolled a snowball big as could be, One winter day in the morning.
I made another one, smaller you see, One winter day, one winter day.
I made another one, smaller you see, One winter day in the morning.
I rolled one more; now I had three, One winter day, one winter day.
And stacked them up as quick as could be, One winter day in the morning.
I added a nose and two eyes to see, One winter day, one winter day.
I gave him a mouth, and he said, "Hi!" to me, One winter day in the morning.
Let's Make a Snowman
Start with a very tiny snowball, (Form a fist)
And roll it through the snow. (Roll hands)
Over, and over and over again, each turn makes it grow. (Pretend you're pushing a big ball through the snow)
Now the ball is big and round, (Make ball with arms)
Add another to make it broad and tall, (Make it bigger and taller)
Add a head and then some arms, (Set on the head and pack on arms)
Firm so they won't fall. Now we'll be the snowmen! Here are buttons for our coat! (Place buttons on)
A broom for us to hold (Pretend to sweep then hold broom)
Let's put a hat upon our head, (Put pretend hat on)
So we won't get cold. (Pose as a cold stiff snowman)
Little Snowman [tune: Twinkle, twinkle, Little Star]
Little snowman round and fat, In your scarf and funny hat.
Orange carrot for a nose, Frosty head and frosty toes.
Little snowman, be my friend. Please don't melt till winter's end.
The More We Read Together [Tune: “The More We Get Together” ]
The more we read together, together, together,
The more we read together, the better it is!
'Cause reading and singing and talking together,
Is how you learn the six skills for reading by six.
