Welcome To Storytime! [tune: Twinkle, Twinkle]
Welcome, welcome everyone,
Now we're here, let's have some fun.
First we'll sing the ABC's,
then we'll read and sing with me.
Welcome, welcome, everyone,
Now we're here let's have some fun.
Choo-choo Train Sounds
Choo, choo, choo, choo...
(rub palms together in circular motion to make a noise, slowly at first, gradually increasing speed.)
Too-too, too-too, too-too....
(keep hands rubbing fast and call too-too for whistle)
Choo, choo, choo, choo, choo, choo
(rubbing hands gradually more and more slowly
Ding-ding, ding-ding, ding-ding...
(Stop altogether and call ding-ding)
Choo-Choo Train
This is a choo-choo train. (Bend arms at elbow)
Chugging down the track. (Rotate forearms in rhythm)
Now it’s going forward. (Push arms forward)
Now it’s going back. (Move arms backwards)
Now the bell is ringing. (Pull cord with closed fist)
Now the whistle blows. (Hold fist near mouth and blow)
What a lot of noise it makes (Cover ears with hands)
Everywhere it goes.
I've Been Working on the Railroad
I've been working on the railroad all the livelong day.
I've been working on the railroad just to pass the time away.
Can't you hear the whistle blowing, "Rise up so early in the morn."
Can't you hear the whistle blowing, "Dinah won't you blow your horn."Dinah, won't you blow, Dinah, won't you blow,
Dinah, won't you blow your horn?
Dinah, won't you blow, Dinah, won't you blow,
Dinah, won't you blow your horn?
The More We Read Together [Tune: The More We Get Together]
The more we read together, together, together,
The more we read together, the better it is!
'Cause reading and singing and talking together,
Is how you learn the six skills for reading by six.
Hope to see you at our next Antioch Preschool Storytime!
