Getting Started with eBooks, eAudiobooks and eMagazines
Here's a quick overview. See below for more details about accessing different types of content on your device.
To get started:
- Download and install the Libby app or go to our Libby website.
- Sign in with your Library card number and PIN/password.
- Check out from Libby or the catalog, then read or listen!
Checkout and renewal basics:
- Check out up to 10 titles at a time in any combination of eBooks and eAudiobooks.
- Access unlimited eMagazines, and subscribe to get notified about new issues.
- Checkouts last 21 days and automatically expire on the due date.
- Place holds on up to 30 titles that have waiting lists.
- Return titles early to check out even more. (Optional.)
- Renew just before the due date to keep longer, if no one is waiting.
eBooks on Libby
Step 1: Get a book! Browse, check out, place holds and manage your account in Libby or our Library catalog.
Step 2: Read! Based on how you want to read, check out titles that come in a compatible format. Learn how to read your eBooks with:
- Libby app – iOS, Android, Fire
Look for the Libby eBook or Read-Along formats.
- Libby website – iOS, Android, Fire, Mac, PC, etc.
Look for the Libby eBook or Read-Along formats.
- Kindle e-readers – Kindle, Kindle Paperwhite, Kindle Oasis, etc.
Look for the Kindle format.
- Kindle app – Fire, iOS, Android, Mac and PC
Look for the Kindle format.
- Other e-readers – Nook, Kobo, etc. Requires Adobe Digital Editions on a Mac or PC.
Look for an EPUB or PDF format.
- Media Do browser reader – iOS, Android, Fire, Mac, PC, etc. Primarily for graphic novels.
Look for the Media Do format.
