6. TAKE TIME TO RHYME, SING AND PLAY WORD GAMES
Here are the rhymes and songs from today:
Welcome To Storytime! [tune: Twinkle, Twinkle]
Welcome, welcome everyone,
Now we're here, let's have some fun.
First we'll sing the ABC's,
then we'll read and sing with me.
Welcome, welcome, everyone,
Now we're here let's have some fun.
Making the Alphabet
Stretch up high, like a capital I.
Nod your head like a letter M.
Wiggle your body like a wiggly S,
and then do it all over again!
Use one arm and one leg to make a big R.
Use both arms to make a large K.
Curve your whole body into a C.
I could play this game all day!
Arms in the air to make a tall Y.
Then make a huge circle for O.
I'd try to make X,
but it's very complex and that's all the letters for now.
One Little Monkey
One little monkey, sitting in a tree,
Feeding all the alligators ABCs.
Here's a yummy "C", just as tasty as can be! SNAP!
"Whew!" said the monkey, "I'm glat that wasn't me!"
The Letters on the Bus [Tune: "Wheels on the Bus" ]
The letters on the bus make lots of sounds,
lots of sounds, lots of sounds.
The letters on the bus make lots of sounds all the way to school.
Chicka Chicka Dance
Chicka, chicka, A...B...C.
Chicka, chicka, dance with me.
Wiggle-jiggle left, then wiggle-jiggle right.
Flip, flop, flee, turn around with me,
Clap three times, slide down the tree.
The First Thanksgiving [Tune: "Twinkle, Twinkle" ]
Pick the corn and pick the beans
pick the squash and other greens.
It is harvest time you see,
Come and share a feast with me.
Bring your family out to play,
We'll call this Thanksgiving Day!
If You're Thankful [Tune: "If You're Happy & You Know It" ]
If you're thankful and you know it, clap your hands.
If you're thankful and you know it, clap your hands.
If you're thankful and you know it, then your face will surely show it.
If you're thankful and you know it, clap your hands.Additional verses: stomp your feet... shout "I am!"... do all three
