Greg Neri is the Coretta Scott King honor-winning author of Yummy: the Last Days of a Southside Shorty a graphic novel based on a gang shooting in 1994 Chicago that left a little girl dead and the police on a manhunt for an 11-year-old boy. His newest is the middle grade mystery, Tru & Nelle, about the childhood friendship between Harper Lee and Truman Capote. Hear about Neri's circuitous route to authorship including jobs as a filmmaker, animator, teacher, documentarian and digital media producer and where he finds inspiration for his books.
