  • Walk and Read at Ernie Miller Nature Center
Saturday, July 13 through Sunday, July 21
Family and friends of all ages are invited to join Johnson County Library for a walk in a park! Walk and Read creates a reading opportunity for all, in various parks throughout Johnson County. Those who participate will read two stories posted around a path, one going each direction. When you finish one story, you can turn around to the other side of the sign and begin the next story, which will lead you back around the path. The paths are stroller and wheelchair friendly, allowing for all to join in the fun! Dates are subject to adjustment due to inclement weather conditions. Look for updated information at jocolibrary.org.
    Story: Kitty by Rebecca Jordan-Glum.

  • Adventure Passport
Stop by any Library location to pick up your Adventure Passport — a small booklet that resembles an actual passport and can be stamped, stickered, or initialed to mark off completed activities. This year's Passport offers all types of adventures! Some can be done within your very own home like try a new food or look at the stars.  Others can be done in your community like riding a bus or exploring a new park. You can also explore program opportunities outside of the library system including The Shawnee Town Museum, The Johnson County Museum, The Aztec Theater, and The National Museum for Toys/Miniatures.
