Fashion + able = fashionable
Morgan,
Rachel Zoe once said, "Style is a way to say who you are without having to speak." Fashion is your language. It's how you express your creative side. It's a process though. It's a technical art and a challenging craft. But you have help! That's right, we know your secret, Morgan. Don't "shush" us. Your secret is safe with us (with the exception of us posting this on the front page of our website!) ;) The Library is your fashion resource. We won't tell!
March 25 - 31 is Kansas City Fashion Week. Obviously it's better than those others in New York, Seoul, Paris, Tokyo, Berlin, etc. And you, Morgan, are ready. Why? You have access to all the best fashion magazines in a digital format thanks to eMagazines from RBdigital! With your Library Card, you can always peruse:
- allure
- Cosmopolitan
- Elle
- Glamour
- Harper's Bazaar
- Lucky
- Marie Claire
- O
- Redbook
- Vanidades USA
- Vogue
Books? Your familiarity with the Dewey Decimal system serves you well. You know the 646 shelves (sewing, clothing and fashion) intimately. You memorized the runway rules!
Once you are inspired, how do you "make it work?" How do your ideas become reality? You don't just dream it, you do it! And the place you get things done is the MakerSpace! Sure, there's a world class sewing machine and space for you to work. But, it's the 3D Printer, the vinyl cutter and the laser etching that you use to transform mere clothing into moving art!
Morgan, you move us! Well done!!!
"I yam what I yam and tha's all what I yam!"
"Well blow me down!" Throwback Thursday takes us back to 1990. This photo of contestants from the Popeye and Olive Oyl "look-a-Like" contest screams "Spinach Festival!" Thanks Lenexa Historical Society.
These kids are just so darn cute it makes us exclaim, "That's all we can stands, cuz we can't stands n'more!"
