The Princess Bride is one of the most widely quoted films of all times. The swashbuckling/fairy-tale/romance/adventure story is enjoyable for both young people and adults, suitable for the former, sophisticated enough for the latter, and humorous to both.
In As You Wish, Cary Elwes takes us behind the scenes of this iconic film, from its history (it almost didn’t get made) through casting and filming, and finally to the 25th anniversary screening. While mostly Elwes’ tale, he speaks about all the major players, and they speak for themselves in inserts sprinkled throughout the book.
I would highly recommend this book to anyone who has seen the film. If you haven’t, I would strongly recommend you watch the film and then read the book.
