In my reviews I often write such things as “not just for dog-lovers” and “you don’t have to own a dog to enjoy this book”. In the case of NPR’s Dog Tales, however, I suspect you probably do have to belong to a dog to appreciate these stories. I happen to be “one of those dog people” and thus enjoyed listening to William Wegman describe his Weimaraneric journey, and to one family share their dismay at their dog’s DNA test results. Even Ralph, the imaginary dog, had me sitting in the driveway. So if you are also “one of those dog people” (and you know who you are) give Dog Tales a listen. If you aren’t “one of those dog people” (and you know who you are) give it a listen, but understand that you might not “get it”.
