The Cabin in the Woods

Feb 7, 2013

At first I was reluctant to watch The Cabin in the Woods due to the fact that it had been categorized as “horror”. But I was convinced to watch it, as I was told it was much more than your typical “slasher film.” And they were right. I won’t go into too much detail, because I would hate to ruin the fabulous twist at the end, but be reassured, this movie is absolutely fabulous. While there were parts that I had to close my eyes (I dislike unnecessary gore), those moments were quickly over and as a viewer you always knew when they were coming.

The quirky characters (oh yes, they are stereotypical, but they even address that), the hysterical dialogue, the intricacy that you finally realize as you near the end, are what makes this film one of my favorites. By the end I was laughing so hard that I was literally crying, and I have re-watched this movie multiple times now.

If you’re looking for something with horror, some conspiracy, brilliant plot, great actors, and hysterical dialogue, this is the film for you.
