Irreverent barely scrapes the surface of Thorne’s correspondences. From the Chiropractic business office where he tries to pay with a spider drawing to individuals who initiate contact by calling him a “foggot” (and then later threaten to report him if he e-mails again), Thorne bends them to his will with wit, sarcasm, manipulation, and oftentimes by just plain wearing them down.
Thorne’s recent e-mail exchanges with a co-worker who was angry that Thorne had photoshopped Justin Bieber’s head onto all of his stock photos drew a doubtful reaction from one journalist who suggests that Thorne really has no office-mates and invented the incident. To which I say, who cares? Thorne’s blend of ridiculous and profound (i.e. Education should always come secondary to discipline) is perfection.
The book is a collection of the best of Thorne’s website http://www.27bslash6.com/, where even the disclaimer is hilarious.
