Prayers For Sale by Sandra Dallas is a wonderful little book by an author I thoroughly enjoy. I've read most of Dallas' books and have enjoyed every one-but this might be her best yet.
In 1936, Hennie Comfort is living alone in the high mountain country of Colorado. Eighty-six year old Hennie has lived most of her life in these mountains. In front of her home is the intriguing sign "Prayers for sale". Newcomer, 17-year-old Nit, sees the sign, seeks Hennie out, and so begins an amazing friendship that carries both women through some of the hardest times of their lives.
Sandra Dallas is a great story teller. Her characters are real people fighting to survive tough times. There are plot surprises too. I've recommended this book to many people who have come back to say "loved it".
