Christy Reed has had a difficult year. First she lost both of her parents in a car wreck, then just a few months later her sister Ginny dies in a house fire. Just as Christy is starting to pull herself out of her grieving and begins to accept that she is alone in the world, an envelope arrives in the mail. The envelope is addressed in Ginny’s handwriting and is postmarked just a few days ago. What is going on, and where is Ginny?

Brand new FBI Special Agent Lance McGregor receives Christy’s call about the letter and reopens the case. There are many questions that need answers. Is Ginny still alive? If so, who has her, and where is she? Who was in Ginny’s house during the fire? And, most important of all, who is behind all of this and why was Christy targeted? As Lance digs deeper into the case and Christy’s background, he realizes that whoever has instigated this series of events has a deadly agenda.

As Lance and Christy work together to answer the questions surrounding Ginny’s disappearance, they get to know each other and develop feelings that neither are prepared to feel. The climactic ending, just as Lance and Christy acknowledge their feelings for each other, will have readers on the edges of their seats.

Thin Ice, which is book two in Irene Hannon’s Men of Valor series, doesn’t disappoint in the action or romance categories. Readers of Hannon’s other work and those who enjoy Terri Blackstock and Candace Calvert will enjoy the Men of Valor series as well.
