King of Scars is a fiction fantasy book that begins a new duology in the Grishaverse by Leigh Bardugo. Following the events of Six of Crows the book follows in the perspective of Nina, Zoya, and Nikolai. While Nina has rejoined the Second Army she has joined a team and is deep undercover in Fjerda, attempting to rescue Grisha. Nikolai faces his inner demon as it begins to grow in power and starts to become unstable and uncontrollable. Zoya leads the Grisha as a member of the Trimmative and begins to become suspicious of the miracles occurring. I loved being able to return to Ravka after the last series focused on Ketterdam. Bardugo’s writing style is one of my favorites and the Grishaverse is such a beautifully organized world with well written characters.
