Bravely
By Maggie StiefvaterThis book appears to be the sequel to the Disney movie Brave. And it is an excellent one. We see Merida come back from a journey, and she realizes that nothing has changed. On Christmas, she meets two gods. One, who goes by the name of Feradach, is the god of ruin, and his next job is to ruin her beloved DunBroch. And the other is the god of renewal, named the Cailleach. Merida makes a bargain to save her family and home. The catch? She has just one year to change her family, or she must submit to Feradach’s ruin.
Rebel Rose
By Emma TheriaultEmma Theriault’s Rebel Rose is the first novel in The Queen’s Council series, a series of Disney princess continuations with historical fiction twists; Rebel Rose is a continuation of Beauty and the Beast. Belle must learn to be queen and navigate politics as the French Revolution divides France and her newfound kingdom. While I enjoyed how Theriault wove history into a Disney classic, I found that her characters lacked a solid resemblance to the originals on which they were based.
Finding Nemo is one of my favorite childhood movies because it tells an amazing adventure across the ocean. The movie starts with Marlin trying to protect his son Nemo, a clown fish, who has one fin of less than average size; Nemo ends up being captured and lands in a fishbowl with other apprehended and imprisoned fish accompanying him. Nemo’s dad, Marlin, travels across the immeasurable ocean along with a new friend he made named Dory who suffers from short-term memory loss.
Planes Fire & Rescue is my favorite movie in the Planes series. Although many people may have mixed feelings towards it, I think it is an amazing new journey/storyline Disney put into place. In this new Planes movie Dusty damaged his engine and he may never race again. His town needed a firefighter so Dusty volunteered to get his training and become a firefighter.
Planes was an incredible movie that could be compared to Cars. Dusty is the main character and he is a crop-duster. In this movie the goal was for Dusty, not built for racing, to compete in the biggest race around the globe. This story is different from Cars and had some challenges because Dusty was afraid of heights.
