After the shocking truth about Oak’s parentage, Jude must do everything in her power to keep Oak safe, even if that means puppeteering High King Cardan. But being the King’s seneschal isn’t as easy as it sounds, especially if it means controlling Cardan. Jude must weave her way through arising conflicts with the land and sea and must not let the power eat her alive. In this novel, Jude must figure out which “friend” means to betray her, and who she can truly rely on.

Jane Austen adaptations might be one of my favorite forms of media. I’ve watched everyone you could get hold of, but by far my favorite will always be Pride and Prejudice 2005. This movie was an adaptation of Jane Austen's famous novel by the same name and follows Elizabeth Bennett and Mr. Darcy and their troublesome, frustrating, and utterly swoon worthy romance. Elizabeth Bennett comes from a large family with little means, while Mr. Darcy comes from a noble and wealthy family with a large estate.

Little Women by Louisa May Alcott is a realistic fiction novel loosely based on Alcott’s real life. It follows four young sisters: Meg, Jo, Beth and Amy on their journey from childhood to womanhood. They all have different aspirations and goals, and this book is a beautiful representation of the many facets of being a woman and just how complicated it can be. For one, Meg’s dream is to get married and have children. Whereas Jo longs to be a well-known writer and share her ideas with the world.
