I really, really loved this book. The Family Upstairs is about a young woman who inherits a house with a dark past. As she uncovers the history of the house and its former residents, secrets and mysteries begin to surface. Soon they connect her life to a series of unsettling events. It was everything I like my thriller mystery books to be. Lisa Jewell is one of my favorite authors and this is one of the best books by her I've read. The creepiness and twists of this book are unmatched by anything else I have read.

Rating: 4

My rating for this book is a 4 because the book is way too detailed at points and can have way too many themes running throughout. I think this diverts the reader from the plot of the novel. I believe this will also confuse readers at some points about what the book is meant to be.

Agnes at the End of the World is an eye-opening and interesting dystopian fiction novel by Kelly McWilliams. This book is about an oppressed 16-year-old girl named Agnes. Agnes lives in Red Creek, the place of the faithful. Red Creek is a Christian based community, with a mad prophet who oppressed his people into believing in his lies. Agnes runs outside her home with her youngest brother and into a dangerous world with Petra, a virus that turns anyone infected into a smooth red stoned creature.
