This mystery book written by Kara Thomas follows the story of Hadley as she works on writing a story for her school newspaper about the school's two time national championship football team. As she works on writing this story, terrible things begin happening to the team. Slowly, she begins to uncover more and more information about the team that the school has covered up for years. As I read this book I found it so exciting. It was full of twists and turns that I never saw coming. It kept me on the edge of my seat from the first chapter and I hoped it would never end.

Wanting to get home, she accepts an offer from an acquaintance, Harper, whom she met on the plane ride. What makes Dragon's Keep work for me is its approach: a medieval fantasy written more like historical fantasy than high fantasy. Yet it has that sliver of magic and magical creatures (dragons, of course) to spice up the lyrical story. In other words, the author avoids over-doing the chosen one approach, and instead creates very believable characters in a believable world.
