The book Brave New World by Aldous Huxley is a dystopian novel that follows the main characters Bernard, Lenina, and John. In this world, religion is replaced by drugs that are called soma and individuals worship Henry Ford. All individuals are placed into a caste system which creates a divided and judgmental society, with all individuals having predestined lives. The novel has lots of plot twists with scenarios that are very dystopian compared to our own world.

In a post-Ford society, children are grown through test tubes into a social hierarchy in an Epicurean society with one goal: happiness for eternity. In it, Benard attempts to higher his social status and ends up revealing more about the world that he lives in than he can cope with.
The main character, Waka, is a straight-A student from Kansas who is sent to Tokyo for five months to focus on her Kanji, when her parents suspect she can’t read nor write basic Japanese. She is forced to live with her strict grandmother, and has to say goodbye to her friends for the summer. While she’s in Japan, Waka gets made fun of by her classmates and struggles to make true friends.
