Shatter Me by Tahereh Mafi is a dystopian fiction novel that follows the main character, Juliette who has the power of a lethal touch, in her destroyed world full of diseases that are killing the population, food that is scarce, birds who don’t fly, and any history is destroyed. Juliette hasn’t touched anyone in 264 days due to an accident and The Reestablishment's way of dealing with her is by isolating her in a cell. Now, after the war, she might be the only thing that can help them. Meeting friends and foes along the way, Juliette must decide: will she be the weapon everyone has made her out to be? Or the hero everyone desperately needs?
I absolutely loved this book! Mafi’s writing style captures the essence of a non-stable girl absolutely perfectly. It’s faster-paced and never boring. I loved the characters and their bonds. There was no one unnecessary and everything fit together so well. It was funny but also had deep moments. Again, I loved the characters so much. It was easy to see character development throughout the book. It was definitely a 5/5!
