Defy Me by Tahereh Mafi is dystopian fiction and the fifth book in the series. In this crazy journey, Juliette discovers so many secrets about her old life. Everything she thought was true was replaced with the ugly truth of her past. This time, she has bigger problems than the Reestablishment. Juliette and Warner uncover even more secrets behind their history. Secrets that are more fragile than they could have ever imagined. Juliette must make sacrifices. She must be brave and she must forgive. This book was surprisingly emotional and painful. One moment I was crying, then I was horrified, and then I was laughing. I experienced so many emotions in this single book. I would give it a 4/5. I loved it so much but certain parts felt unnecessary and I kind of wish they weren't there at all. It was confusing and if I didn’t know the information beforehand, I would have been so lost. This series is known for the beautiful figurative language but this book didn’t have much. I was internally battling between hating and liking the characters. But that is what makes this book so good, the characters aren't all perfect, except for Kenji, but they are still the best part.
