Due to his queer identity, his growing relationship with a problematic classmate, and his dysfunctional family, his journey to find the answer is filled with self-discovery, loss, love, and acceptance. The novel is well-paced, heartbreaking, thoughtful, and an unforgettable read. The characters are well-developed and have authentic relationships with each other. Henry Denton as an unreliable narrator increases the novel’s intrigue and creates suspense. Readers will be left inspired to embrace life, and to take advantage of what matters most in the present.
