I have never heard about the story of Wilhelm Gustloff. I think that this story talks about a very

important event in history that we should all know about. And this book fantastically incorporated the

story of Wilhelm Gustloff in this historical fiction novel. The author shows you such diverse, different,

characters that are so unique and love able. The book describes the tragedies that happened in one of

many of the heartbreaking events that happened in World War 2. This book rotates between several

different characters who all start in different places and have different backgrounds. I really like this

because then I can see things from different perspectives, and I feel like I learn more about the

characters’ personalities this way. This was very well written as I could empathize with characters, and it

also informed/educated me on some events that I didn’t know about from World War 2. I love the

awareness that this book spreads about how the lives of innocent Germans were also affected in the

treacherous events that took place in World War 2. I loved this book so much, and I really hope that

more people read this incredible, breathtaking, novel.
