Throne of Glass by Sarah J. Maas is the first book in the Throne of Glass series. In a land
without magic, Celaena Sardothien is an assassin who is deadly and can kill with a flick of her
finger. She is summoned to the castle and in order to win her freedom, she has to defeat
twenty-three opponents (killers, thieves, and warriors) in a competition. One by one, Celaena’s
opponents start dying mysteriously and now it isn’t just about fighting and winning, but also
about protecting themselves from the mysterious evil in the castle. It is up to Celaena to figure
out what’s going on in the castle of glass. Will she finally win the freedom she’s wanted forever,
or will she be another target that’ll get killed by the evil dwelling in the castle?
I thought this book was really good. If you're a big dystopian novel fan then you should definitely
consider reading this book. I had a lot of suspicions of possible people who could have been the
killer, but it turns out, the most obvious one was the killer. I honestly ruled that person out
because I thought it was a little too obvious, but it was still a very thrilling book to read. I really
enjoyed reading this book and I couldn’t put it down until I read the whole thing! I rate this book
a 4/5.
