Warriors: Escape from the Forest is a graphic novel, an extra of the main Warriors series by Erin Hunter and the second book of the miniseries Tigerstar and Sasha. This book talks about Sasha, who was the first Tigerstar’s mate at one point in the first series The Prophecy Begins. It starts with Tigerstar discussing his plan to join Shadowclan and ally with Bloodclan to defeat all the others and rule the forest. Sasha disagreed and left him since she didn’t want to be part of all the bloodshed. She ventures in the Twolegplace, where she gets kicked out by Bloodclan. Eventually, she reaches a boat dock and sleeps in a ship. When she wakes up, the boat is moving in the water, and there are people on the cruise admiring her. However, when the captain reaches the port again, he makes her go away. But later he changes his mind and allows her to stay with him because she was helping drum up business. Time passes, and at one point Sasha saves a kitten from death after they almost drowned in the water. Is Sasha’s destiny really to remain with the new kitten and the captain of the boat, or does she have something more in life?

The main series barely discusses Sasha and her origins at all, and she is quite mysterious. I always thought that she must have been a very mean cat because of being mates with Tigerstar, but this book helped explain that she left him when she discovered what he was truly like. However, the book doesn’t end this section of the story the best - it might sort of be like a cliffhanger since there is one more book to end Sasha’s story, but unlike the other Warriors graphic novels, the end of this specific book still seems unfinished. In addition, the drawing isn’t as good as the other Warriors graphic novels, and it is in black-and-white. Because of all this, I give this book a three out of five.
