Exile by Shannon Messenger is the second book in the Keeper of the Lost Cities fantasy series. In this book, Sophie Foster is safe at home with her friends and family. She is trying to put all her focus into working with the new alicorn, Silveny. She is the second alicorn to be found, and she is incredibly valuable. Sophie is struggling to keep some her friendships after an accident she believes was her fault. The Black Swan might be able to help her with their messages and clues. But, their help comes with a price, risking everything she knows and loves. This book was a good continuation of the Keeper of the Lost Cities, the first book in the series. I like that the Black Swan began to have a more predominant role in the plot. It was inspiring to read how the characters in the book worked through their differences to save their friendships.
