The Inheritance Games is the first book of a, so far trilogy (except the third book is not out yet). A young girl receives a billionaire’s fortune; the houses, money, companies. However, the girl has no idea who the person who gave her the fortune is. She tries to figure out that mystery and deal with the troubling family at the same time.
The Inheritance Games was an exciting book to read. From the interactions, mystery, and plot-twist I was kept interested and wondering what came next. I would give this book a ⅘, but it is so close to a 5/5. One of the things I wasn't a fan of was some of the relationships and dialogue. Barnes did a great job creating realistic interactions, but some of them got a little wild, or cliché. Though, while I might not like that, I know a lot of people too. Especially when the interactions allow for a distraction or get away from life, which is what this book does. The details and events that occur in this book are the perfect material to make you think.
I would, of course, recommend this book to anyone who enjoys thrillers or mysteries, but also to anyone who wants a sweet escape.
