Have you ever read a book that is narrated by Death? If not, you should. Death the narrator tells us

about this awe-bringing story about a book thief, a Jewish fist fighter, and Nazi Germany. The

organization of the book was put together very well, and it was a beautifully written novel. You read

about the book thief, Liesel, as she lives her life during World War 2 in Germany. Her mother being too

poor and not in the right condition to sustain her and her children, decided to send them to live with

foster parents. Though, on the train her brother fatefully dies leaving Liesel to fend for herself after her

mother leaves her with the foster parents. There, she starts to learn more about the things happening in

Germany, while also learning more about the meanings of family, friendships, and love. I loved the new

perspective that is given because the narrator is Death himself. While reading you learn about the pain

World War 2 caused through all the events described throughout the book. The way they give feelings

to Death, really gave me another way of thinking about World War 2. It thought about it from his

perspective, and I could really feel the emotions that came out of the pages and his words. I will confess

I shed a few tears at the end of the novel. It was a heart wrenching, spectacular read for anyone

interested in World War 2 or just if you are into books, since the love and desperation for books is

widely expressed throughout this book. I truly loved this incredible book and will be rereading it later to

experience the book again.
