The Name of the Wind is a beautiful and amazing story about a wizard, musician, and legend
with a world called Temerant hidden with mysteries to unravel by Patrick Rothfuss. Kvothe, the
main character, is an innkeeper telling his life story to a chronicler of how he grew up and
learned the ways of science and magic on his quest to learn at the University. The University is
a famous school where Kvothe hopes to find knowledge of the mysterious evil group of villains
called the Chandrian so he can have his revenge and kill them all.
This book is unpredictable as breaks and expands fantasy cliches that have been known for
generations of written literature. The prose is magical and every word has a double meaning
which foreshadow future events and enrich this world. This is my favourite book of all time as it
keeps you thinking about the mysteries of this world and who was Kvothe then and why he is
just a mere innkeeper now. A story of love, knowledge, and adventure, this is a novel that is
written by a genius. A beautiful masterpiece with some pacing issues that hardly matter,
Kvothe’s tale is fascinating to read.
