Reminders Of Him follows the story of Kenna Rowan after she gets out of prison. She goes to
prison after driving under the influence and killing her boyfriend in a freak accident. Carrying
the guilt with her years later, she returns to the town she lived in with her deceased boyfriend.
While staying in the town, she keeps her head low while trying to reunite with her daughter,
but it seems like the universe has something else planned. As she continues to fight for her 4-
year-old daughter, everyone else tries to shut her out, remembering what she did years prior.
Follow Kenna on her journey to grow mentally but also to get her daughter back, the one thing
she has left to live for and the last tie to her deceased boyfriend.
Hoover uses alternating viewpoints between the two main characters to highlight the
conflicting emotions surrounding the main characters. Hoover brings in raw emotion; this story
isn’t just a love story. Differing from many of her other sweet, sappy romance novels, she brings
vulnerability into a tense environment with all odds set against them from the start. Kenna goes
through a period of self-growth very relatable to many. Ledger, the main male lead, faced his
own internal battle as many would if put in the position he was in. But in the end, his charm
and forgiving personality wins readers over. Overall, Colleen Hoover creates engaging
characters and a moving plot to capture her reader’s and their hearts.
