It Starts With Us follows Lily and Atlas after the end of the first book: It Ends With Us. The reason
Colleen Hoover decided to write a second book was because of all the popularity It Ends With Us
was getting. Many of Hoover's fans encouraged her to write a sequel which she did by giving us
this book. In this story we also get atlas’s POV which was fine I guess but seemed unnecessary
and I was bored for the most part. There were also other characters that Colleen added for
more content I guess.
I liked It Ends With Us because it shows how Lily grew as a person but in
this book Colleen mainly tries to focus on Lilys and Atlas’s relationship which gives the first book
less depth in my opinion. I think that It Ends With Us should have stayed a solo book and have
left the readers to create their own “Ending” even though the first book was an ending itself
because it showed how Lily was finally happy with herself and her daughter. In conclusion I
think this book was fine but unnecessary. I rate it a 3 out of 5 stars because it wasn't the best
but it wasn't the worst either.
