The Dark Prophecy is the second book in the Trials of Apollo series and is written by Rick Riordan. In this book, Apollo continues his mission to redeem himself to his father and finally become a god again, so he decides to go on a quest and restore several Oracles that have gone dark. The first book in this series was pretty mediocre so I was looking forward to this book to see if this one would be any better. And honestly, it is, but not by much. This book has the same problems as the last book, but it’s gotten a lot better. Apollo and Meg are much more tolerable in this book, and I felt more sympathy for Apollo in this book. The new characters are much better too, and the return of Leo and Calypso made the book better. I also love how Apollo’s experience as a mortal sucks, because it shows how privileged he was as a god. This punishment should be a humbling experience to him, and it feels exactly like that. Overall, it’s a solid book that is more improved and refined than The Hidden Oracle.
