This novel is an extremely well-written and creative dystopian novel that centers around a character named Rose. In Rose’s world climate change has completely changed everyone’s way of life. There are lots of wildfires & hurricanes causing life for people a bit hard. Rose finds a job in this world to be what they call a “Bloom”. A bloom is there to serve men & entertain them. She becomes a bloom in a place called Camp Zero which is where an architect is trying to build something that would create a new life for others in their messed-up world. She starts to learn that nothing is as it seems in this camp & that there were a lot more things going on at the camp than she thought. She will find out that she is not the only one with a hidden agenda and that there are lots of mysteries in the cold & dark Camp Zero.
I really liked this book and I thought that it was a great book. For me, it started out a bit slow. But, later on it definitely picked up the pace. I liked how the book’s chapters were split into the different perspectives of different characters. It kept me on the edge of my seat and always left me wanting to know more about one of the stories/perspectives. It also kept me thinking about how all the different perspectives & stories would come together at the end (which they do in a beautiful fashion). Overall, I really liked this book & I recommend it to people who like dystopian novels, mystery, romance, and sci-fi books.
