In Lord of the Flies by William Golding, a group of British schoolboys gets stranded on an island after a plane crash. These boys must learn how to survive in the wilderness without any adult supervision. Ralph, Piggy, Jack, and Simon are the main characters in the novel. Ralph is the protagonist and the chief of the tribe they had managed to create. Piggy is the intelligent one but also gets bullied by the other boys. Jack, the antagonist, had made himself the group's hunter along with his choir boys. As the boys try to maintain society, the idea of establishing a social order soon turns into savagery. As the book progresses the boys turn into complete savages and the idea of being rescued soon fades away. Ralph being the chief must try and control these boys before things get even worse.
In my opinion, this was a very different type of novel to read. I would give these 3 stars because it was slow at times, especially toward the beginning. After the story picks up a little bit, it gets very interesting and it also leaves you on edge at times. The overall storyline is intriguing and I would recommend this book to someone who wants to read something out of the ordinary
