Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen follows Elizabeth Bennet and Fitzwilliam Darcy in their journey through love in the 1800s. Lizzy is strongwilled and is not in any rush to get married, in fact she only wishes to get married if its for love. However her older sister, Jane, does wish for marriage and their mother is insistent that all 5 of her daughters marry. When Charles Bingley comes to town, with a group full of friends including Darcy, he and Jane have a connection quickley. This forces Darcy and Lizzy to spend time together despite the mutal hatred for each other. But slowly Darcy notices Lizzy’s fine eyes and Lizzy enjoys teasing Darcy. Throughtout a long time frame we follow the two as they slowly start understanding their feeling. But this story is not without its’ villains and its’ ups and downs. Austen creates a wonderful story about finding love in a time where marriage and love don’t go together.
I gave Pride and Prejudice 5 stars because it is one of the best love stories of all times. I fell in love with Darcy and Austen really brought the stroy to life with all the journeys and challenges throughout the book. Though this book is written in the 1800s I found it really easy to understand and follow the stroy line. If you want to get into older novels this is a great place to start. This book is full of swoon worthy moments where you are squealing when the two charcters just have an interaction. Austen creates an amazing love that leaves you cheering for the characters throughout the novel. As one of the original enemies to lovers this book does the troupe perfectly. Pride and Prejudice is a 5 out 5 read that I recommend to everyone.
