Midnight Sun is the first novel in the Twilight saga from Edward’s point of view. It is very interesting to see the story through Edward because he has so many conflicting thoughts about Bella and her well-being around him. I would suggest reading this book after you finish reading the entire Twilight saga because it will help patch up some holes left in the story after the last book. My favorite part of this story is Edward’s protectiveness towards Bella and she doesn’t even know it. I would recommend this book to 8th graders because it does have some fight scenes and vampire lore. This book isn’t as scary as Twilight, though.
