“How much can a crown be worth, when a crow can dine upon a king?”
The War Of Five Kings is finally over, and a single family stands at the top, yet when the head of said family dies under suspicious circumstances, how will the grab for power go? And when the crown is finally placed, will the people agree with the choices of the nobility?
Welcome back to the world of Ice and Fire! The fourth book in the series is my personal favorite. Get ready to have your world turned upside down and then right side up again. I really enjoyed this book. The last few books in a series as large as this are typically a bit slow, and while that is definitely still true, this one was less so. As a reader who came to the books because of the show, I would warn others that your favorite characters are wildly different from their show- counterparts. Martin isn’t afraid to show the brutal aspects of characters that you might have once idolized. If you are willing to have your view of this world permanently shifted, I would recommend picking up the series. Five out of Five Stars.
