Sera is chosen as a sacrifice for her home, The City Above the Sky. The city is tethered to the planet below. It becomes time to move to the next planet and the only way to do that is for a Cerulean to be chosen and sacrifice themselves for their city. However, Sera’s sacrifice doesn’t work and instead, she’s stuck on the planet below which poses more danger than she once believed.
I couldn't stop listening to it. There was a lot of world-building in the beginning, but I found the society they live in very interesting. This book stuck out to me because of the society portrayed in The City Above the Sky. The contrast between the society in The City Above the Sky and the one on the planet made the book unique to me. Seeing the differences between the two societies made me compare the good and bad parts to what I see in our world today. I enjoyed this book and would recommend it if you like fantasy and sci-fi books/content.
