The Dragonslayer is a graphic novel, the fourth book of a 7-book series called Bone. At the end of the third book, Thorn finds out that she is the technical princess of the Atheia, and that a war might start with the rat creatures again. They decide to leave the barn in case the rat creatures try to track them. Now, in this book, as they journey through the forest, they get attacked by the rat creatures and Kingdok, who they fight back against. However, Thorn and grandma get into an argument and split, causing Thorn to have no strong defense against any future rat creature attacks. At the same time, Phoney Bone tricks all of the people in the Barrel Haven into making him their leader. One day, when Fone Bone and Smiley are in a barn, they find a baby rat creature. Will Thorn be able to fend against the rat creatures, all while managing her strange dreams? Also, will the Bones be able to keep the creature, or will they give it away?

I love this book because of all the plot twists, like the introduction of an unsuspecting new character in this book. Smith also adds suspense with Thorn's weird dreams about the past, hinting that someone big is going to happen soon. Because of all this, I give this book a five out of five.
