Percy Jackson, an ADHD and dyslexic 12 year old, gets thrown into the world of the Greek gods and is caught in the middle of a war. He is accused of stealing Zeus’s master bolt and now he must travel to the underworld to stop a potential World War III. Percy and his two companions Annabeth Chase and Grover Underwood must venture across the land of the gods to retrieve the bolt, but there are many obstacles along the way including a fall from the St. Louis arch, being chased by the three Furies, and getting stuck in time. Traitors will be uncovered and mysteries will be revealed.

I really liked reading this book. The author brings the characters to life and he does a spectacular job of giving each of the characters each of their own personalities. This book would be perfect for people who like reading about Greek mythology. This story has many twists and turns and will keep any reader hooked onto it. The Lightning Thief has mystery, fantasy, and even a little sarcasm. It is definitely a book worth reading.
