Treasure Hunters: Danger on the Nile is the second book in the Treasure Hunters series featuring the Kidd family and their wild adventures across the world, seeking treasure as a family while also on the run from rival treasure hunters who simply try stealing their finds. The Kidd kids are on their own, as while searching for treasure, their mother was taken by kidnappers in Cyprus and their father swept off the deck during a freak storm near the Cayman Islands. The Kidd kids are on a quest to get back both of their parents, yet they aren’t sure if their father is alive or not. After their first adventure alone, they are taken back by their “Uncle” Timothy, who used to be their father’s CIA handler. He argues that he is now their legal guardian as their father is presumed to be dead and their mother kidnapped. The wild, carefree Kidds are now forced to go to a proper New York prep school, where they do not fit in the slightest. They soon receive a coded message their father had placed a long time back when he used to go to the school, and that is when their adventure starts. They escape and travel to Egypt, down the Nile and into the jungles of Africa, looking for the treasure their mother’s Cypriot captors demand to set her free while also staying on the lookout for any clues of their father being alive.

I find this edition of the Treasure Hunters series one of the best, from the interesting and cryptic clues their father drops, to their wild escape from New York to their travel to Egypt and their adventure down the Nile and into the African jungle, all looking for the treasure that could set their mother free. This book kept me on my toes, trying to figure out all the clues, and keeping me excited to see what would happen next with every chapter. This book is quite the page turner, and a great read from anyone of the ages of 9-14. Owing to this being arguably the best book in the Treasure Hunters series, this book is most definitely a 5 out of 5, no questions asked.
