Frankenstein is a groundbreaking gothic novel that explores themes of ambition, responsibility, and the nature of humanity. Victor Frankenstein, a young scientist, creates a creature in a scientific experiment. Horrified by his creation, Victor abandons it. The creature, shunned by society due to its appearance, becomes bitter and seeks revenge on its creator. The story is told through many letters written by Captain Walton, who meets Victor in the Arctic and records his tale. This novel is both a cautionary story about the dangers of unchecked scientific progress and an analysis of what it means to be human. I really enjoyed reading this book because the narrative’s structure adds depth, allowing us to see events from multiple perspectives. While the pacing can be slow at times, I enjoyed the questions raised and the emotional impact of the story. I love how this timeless classic still resonates with readers today. I would recommend this book to anyone who loves science fiction or old classics because this is a great combination of the two.
