Madeline Whittier has never been outside. At least, for as long as she can remember. This is because of her rare condition that basically means she is allergic to everything. After a tumultuous childhood of doctors and tests, she was put in her air filtered house. Not a speck of anything from the outside world can get inside. Until the new family moves in next door, and the mysterious boy outside Madeline’s window waves back. Curious about this cute friend across the yard, Madeline begins to talk to him through emails. His name is Olly, and he wants to show her everything. As the bubble she lives in keeps shrinking, Madeline gets a new perspective on a life she had always deemed unlivable: her own.

I really resonated with this book, and I’m not really sure why. It was definitely a cute read, a fluffy feel good with some medical mystery thrown in and a smidgen of family drama. While a bit predictable at times, the banter and relationship between the characters made up for it in my opinion. It was also a decently easy read; I finished it in about an hour and a half. I would rate this at four out of five, not my usual book choice but I can appreciate a well-written, sweet story.
