Charlie Thorne isn’t your typical teenager - she’s more intelligent than most adults and is way too busy saving the world to waste time on her cellphone. In fact, this won’t be her first time outsmarting covert organizations, solving seemingly impossible puzzles, and uncovering truths that could impact the entire planet. This time around, it’s a race against time to find Isaac Newton’s hidden secret to immortality, a weapon so powerful it could either save humanity or destroy it. With menacing rivals closing in and the stakes higher than ever, Charlie must rely on her smarts, courage, and a little luck to stay one step ahead - while also making sure the secret doesn’t fall into the wrong hands.
In my opinion, Charlie Thorne and the Royal Society is an exceptionally well written novel, perfect for those who love an action-packed storyline and thrilling cliffhangers that keep you on the edge of your seat. The characters are well developed and each of them bring a unique aspect to the story. The only downside I found was that at times, the plot could feel a little too convenient. Some parts of the story seemed to favor Charlie a bit too easily. While it didn’t ruin the excitement, a bit more challenge could have made it more intense and fun to read. Moreover, Charlie Thorne and the Royal Society earns a solid 4 out of 5 and is a fantastic overall read. Similar titles include the Spy School series and the other books in the Charlie Thorne series: Charlie Thorne and the Last Equation and Charlie Thorne and the Curse of Cleopatra.
