Legendary is the second book in the Caraval series that focuses on Donatella Dragna's perspective. Tella makes a deal with a mysterious man, and she must win Caraval to save her life and uncover secrets about her mother. Once she wins, she can meet Legend, the brain behind Caraval, and learns his true name to fulfill the deal. Throughout this story, Tella banters with Jack and Dante as Tella reluctantly allows them to help her play the game and solve clues. Tella becomes weary of the people she can trust as the secrets between Tella and Scarlett grow throughout the book, but Tella needs to trust people to help her win the game. Will she trust the right people and survive?

I thought the chemistry between Dante and Tella in this book as well as her relationship full of banter toward Jacks were entertaining. All the characters grow and change throughout the story, and we see glimpses of everyone's thoughts and reasons in the book. The plot of this book follows almost immediately after the plot of Caraval, so it is necessary to read it before reading Legendary. Many characters from the last book are brought back and there were good plot twists. The book was like a mystery with small clues and hints hidden throughout the book. Since this book is a trilogy, I would also recommend reading the next book in the series, Finale. I would rate this book 4 out of 5 stars.
