In We Hunt the Flame, the world of Arawiya is on the brink of destruction. In order to save it Zafira, a hunter who always finds her way, and Nasir, the prince of death, are forced to work together. They are joined with others who have their own motivations for going on this journey. Many lies and truths are uncovered throughout the journey and the fate of the world rests in the hands of an unintentionally united Zumra (as one of my favorite characters, Benyamin, calls their unlikely grouping).

I’m not lying when I say I couldn’t put this book down!! I read this book on vacation and I read it in under 24 hours and I’m not a fast reader. I admit it had a slow start, but once I got past the world-building I was hooked. I loved Zafira, the main character and our unwavering huntress, from the moment I met her. Her character development in this book is also unreal. Her growth is so visible in her relationships as the book continues. I love the themes of self-acceptance and redemption throughout the book as well. It really pulled at my heart strings and I would be lying if I said that I didn’t tear up a few times. I would recommend this book to anyone who is interested in broadening their horizons as the book is inspired by Ancient Arabia, or anyone who loves a book overflowing with imagination and wit. I rate this book a 4 out of 5 stars. I will definitely be reading this book again!!
